Do you know why there is a town named Paoli in Chester County? As we continue celebrating our nation's 250th anniversary this summer, join us for an evening with Ed Auble, a local expert on General Pasquale di Paoli.

Ed will explore how General Paoli authored a democratic constitution in 1755, just before America's Declaration of Independence in 1776, and how his ideas influenced the founding of our nation.

Ed Auble has lived in multiple countries and has visited nearly 70 throughout his lifetime. He has traveled to Corsica, the birthplace of General Paoli, and has developed a personal connection to the island and its history. He even spoke at the celebration of General Paoli's 300th birthday on April 6, 2025, in Morosaglia, where Paoli's ancestral home now serves as a museum and a small chapel on the grounds houses his remains.

Ed is a Chester County resident who has served on numerous community boards and committees. A retired finance professional, he has also taught locally at Immaculata University. He is a graduate of Lafayette College and holds a master's degree in International Management. Ed served in the U.S. Navy, flew carrier-based combat missions during the Vietnam War, and retired from the Naval Reserves in 1981 with the rank of lieutenant commander.
