Building the Next Generation of Care at Paoli Hospital

We are excited to share that Main Line Health's Board of Governors has approved a significant expansion and modernization project at Paoli Hospital, including the construction of a new five-story patient pavilion that will add 108 inpatient beds, expanded diagnostic services and enhanced capabilities to support the growing needs of the communities we serve.

This project reflects our commitment to ensuring patients have access to the high-quality, comprehensive care they need close to home. More patients are choosing Main Line Health for their care, and this project will help ensure our facilities keep pace with that growth.

At Paoli Hospital, demand for our services continues to increase, particularly in the Emergency Department and inpatient areas, and we must ensure we have the capacity to meet those needs today and into the future.

The care provided at Paoli Hospital is exceptional, and our facilities should reflect that same standard of excellence. The new pavilion will include three floors dedicated to inpatient care, a floor for diagnostic services including radiology and perinatal testing and a rooftop heliport to support timely emergency and trauma patient transportation.

The project will also feature 36 private patient rooms and infrastructure enhancements across the campus, including expanded dining facilities, additional parking options, upgraded mechanical systems, additional emergency power capacity and improved connectivity to key clinical areas.

Construction is expected to begin this fall, with the new pavilion anticipated to open in spring 2029.

This expansion represents more than additional space. It will create the capacity needed to care for more patients, enhance the experience for those who rely on us and support our teams in delivering safe, high-quality care for years to come.

Paoli's growth is part of a broader effort to expand access to care where people live and work. Within the next year, Main Line Health Downingtown will open its doors, bringing a comprehensive ambulatory care destination to Chester County and expanding access to coordinated, patient-centered services.

Many of you have also seen recent news reports about a proposed hospital campus in Collegeville. We have entered into a purchase and sale agreement for approximately 40 acres of land across from our existing Collegeville location and submitted preliminary plans to Upper Providence Township. While this project is still in the early stages and much work remains ahead, it reflects our confidence in this region and our long-term commitment to serving its residents.

At a time when healthcare access is decreasing in many communities, Main Line Health continues to grow with confidence and purpose.

We are proud of the trust patients place in Main Line Health every day, and we remain focused on providing convenient access to exceptional care where people live, work and raise their families.

Thank you for your commitment and dedication to our patients and one another.

Sincerely,

Ed Jimenez
